Psssst!

Have you ever been left out of a secret? I have, and man, it's irritating. But, have you ever been pulled into the group, someone cups their hands around your ear and tells you the secret? Me too, and it's great! Even if it was something silly like Katy likes Jason, we still knew the secret.

In Chapter 3, Paul is letting us in on the secret that had been hidden for ages. It's like God decided, at the perfect time, to cup His hands around our ears and tell us the wonder of the universe...

"Jesus loves ALL of you and through Him you are now mine."

There is no better secret for man to know!

Take time to read 3:1-13 sometime today and think about the implications we are going to talk about for just a minute.

Paul says he is revealing a mystery.

In reading this you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit of God's holy apostles and prophets. This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise of Christ Jesus.

Paul is serious about making sure his readers understand Who they are and what that means.

For him it meant that he was to become an evangelist to the Gentile (verse 8-9). For us it means, well, we are too.

Verse 10
His (God's) intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms according to his eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Wait. Through us His wisdom is made known? Wow. I'll say that again. Wow. And not only that, but our becoming one in Christ is to show the rulers of the spirit world the manifold wisdom of God.

How well are we doing that? I'd say in many ways we are kickin' hiney! In other ways, I know I've contributed to not showing off God very well.

Thankfully, He has promised His power to the church to make His name famous and He will provide forgiveness when we fall, and power to stand up again and walk with glory.

We have an awesome privilege to show the world, both physically and spiritually, just how magnificent God is!

There, now you're in on the secret!

Wow. Even while we are trying to show the world, there's GRACE when we mess up.

Love it!
