Lie Trumper, Satan Thumper

Good Tuesday to you!

Please read Daniel 3:8-30.

Back to the great idol of King Nebby.

What I find interesting is that King Nebby fashioned an image that was possibly for the god, Nabu, whose name formed the first element in Nebuchadnezzar. It means, “Nabu, protect my son!” or “Nabu, protect my boundary.” He was praying to a false god for protection. Too bad he was about to come face to face with the Protector! Oh, that’s good!

This is the practical concept for you and me:

God exposed the false god of King Nebby with the very thing that god was called upon to do – protect. He trumped King Nebby’s god by protecting the guys in the fire.

In our lives, God will do the same thing. He will expose any lie that the enemy will tell us with the very truth the enemy tries to distort.

Need an example? Okay.

Take the idea of being loved by God. Let’s say you don’t fall for the lie that God doesn’t love you, but you struggle with the idea that God loves you no matter what. Satan slips in and tells you God only loves you when you are doing a daily devotional, weigh 122 pounds, work in the nursery, never say a cuss word, feed the poor, and visit the elderly. You know God loves you, but maybe he’d like you better if you did something else or were more like someone else. Little truth, big lie!

God comes in and can trump that lie with TRUTH! He loves you. Period. And out of that love He will fashion you into the likeness of His son.

Want the piece of truth to munch on today?

Romans 8:38 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord”

Mm-hmm, that some good news someone needed to hear!

If you need help identifying any lies you might be believing, feel free to e-mail me. I’d love to help!

Let God give you Truth! Trust Him. You’re going to need Him in the fire. (oooo, nice segue…)
